Bethany Medical is now offering COVID-19 Antibody Testing!
COVID-19 Antibody testing is available to all patients and non-patients of Bethany Medical. Total cost of testing is $50 (self-pay, insurance will not be billed).
The antibody test, which analyzes blood, looks for antibodies produced by the immune system after COVID-19 infection has occurred. This test does not diagnose or detect the virus itself. The COVID-19 IgM antibody may indicate a recent exposure while the IgG antibody typically indicates a previous exposure to the virus and is usually detectable following infection. Presence of IgG antibody may indicate immunity to future infection.
If you have had past exposure, previously experienced symptoms, or a known prior infection, that may be due to a COVID-19 infection but were never tested. Our providers can help you determine whether this antibody test may be right for you! Call today to schedule an appointment or visit any of Bethany’s 10 Triad locations. No appointments necessary, walk-ins welcome.
This test has not been reviewed by the FDA. Negative results do not rule out SARS-CoV-2 infection, particularly in those who have been in contact with the virus. Follow up testing with a molecular diagnostic should be considered to rule out infection in these individuals. Results from antibody testing should not be used as the sole basis to diagnose or exclude SARS-CoV-2 infection or to inform infection status. Positive results may be due to past or present infection with non-SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus strains, such as coronavirus HKU1, NL63, OC43, or 229E. Not for the screening of donated blood.
